Okay so what I did today that was a little more interesting was : I made my own "california handroll". Okay this wasn't my first time doing it, but I must confess my handroll onli contains crabmeat =P. The truth it is realli easy to do.....
So I am gonna provide you the steps, it is as simple as 1-2-3! Okay.
1st you will need : pearl rice / what they say short-grain rice. (these are rice to make sushi), some japanese vinegar, sugar, crabmeat and last of all SEAWEED. Oh and some japanese mayonaise. ( this is optional, really you can also replace it with normal mayonnaise)
pearl rice seaweed
Jap rice vinegar
2nd : JUST WASH AND COOK THE RICE !!!! ( I made three california handroll with 1/2 cup of rice) After the rice is cooked, pour a table spoon of the japanese vinegar and one table spoon of sugar or less. MIX IT. (Rmb to mix it while the rice is warm) Put it to cool.
3rd : Toast the crabmeat if you have a toaster for about 5 minutes will do, or just fry it in a frying pain with lil or mayb no oil. (Because when I toast it I don't put oil)
4th : Ta-da, just put the ingredients on the seaweed and wrap! Okay I can't provide the real pic of the real wrapping process cause I forgot to take the pic and the california handrolls are already in my stomach but i can try using paint to show you =)
Okay this is the paint image....
black : seaweed, white: rice, red: crabstick. So as you can see for the seaweed you can just fold it into half if you wan it thicker or cut it into half on the long edge of the seaweed. Then put the amount of rice as shown dun put it too thick as it will be difficult for you to roll it up nicely. And erm put the mayo before your crabstick and place the crabstick as shown. Sorry for the poor graphics. And see the two blue dots there that is to show you how to roll it. Make sure the two point touches and you adjust the shape of the roll accordingly. Hope this helps.
Oh and Just a pic of the final product.
ENJOY!!!!
